Not sure about the light but if you were buying the one with the blue hook up connector the lead is only 3 m long!

No doubt that is a bright lantern, but I find the light from those type of fluorecent lamps to be harsh and cold, if you are using EHU, you might as well just use some regular 40watt old school bulb fittings.

Hi Sarahj17.

The lanterns in your link, are mains 240v only so only any use on campsites with EHU  "Electric Hook Up" service points to the pitch's.

If you looking for a none 240v mains dependant light source, apart from gas or parrafin, then one of the best camping lanterns available at the moment is the 400LX from Outwell, which runs of 6 of the "D" cell type batteries although at £50 is over priced imho.

The Varta version of the same lamp is available on Amazon for less.  I believe it uses 3 not 6 D cells.

The Varta/Ring/Decathlon version is only 300 lumens, the Outwell is 400 Lumens so 25% brighter in theory, although Outwell do do a cheaper 300 Lumen version, exact same as the Varta unit, it just uses 3 Cree LED's instead of 4, like what the Outwell 400 Lumen unit uses.
