Can anyone compare the Commander chair and the Adjustable from Royal? I've read comments on both but not a direct comparison.
I bought the Adjustable recently, which is very comfortable, but even in its most upright position it's a chair to recline in rather than sitting up straight. If I can squeeze them into the car I'd like to buy another good chair so we have one each,
Looking at pictures of the Commander, it seems to have more of a right angle between the back and the seat compared to the Adjustable which is curved. So would the Commander be more suitable for sitting at a table, for example? I think I read that the Commander is also adjustable to some extent?
Also, how do they compare in size when folded up? The Adjustable is quite a bit larger than the cheapie it replaced, so hopefully the Commander isn't any bigger! Thanks.
My commander doesnt adjust at all, its quite roomy tho and suits bigger people too as can take a good bit of weight. 33cm wide by 98cm long is its folded size approx. The back are also nice and high. Very sturdy chairs.

Likewize have the commander chairs, as well as the president chairs. The commanders are more upright, but have a very deep seat, therefore although comfortable for eating off your knee are not high enough for eating at the table (for me anyway, I'm 5'7" OH is 6'1" and eats easily at the table.
They are bulky when folded and at least double the width of the cheap supermarket chairs. I actually prefer the president chair as the seat is a bit lower than the commander and I can lean further back in it. The commander's are better for a taller/larger person. However the Royal chairs are really good quality. top notch.
bought a couple of these fishing chairs a few years ago. Love them. Worth every penny when you`re sitting around for a few hours. There`s no point fidgeting around in a cheap chair if you`re away for a while. fox warrior fishing chair

We've got the Royal Commander chairs, but I wouldn't recommend them for sitting at a table to eat as the seats slope backwards slightly meaning you have to sit right back in them, you can't lean forward enough to eat comfortably. Other than that they're excellent chairs, but not if you're short, the front bar would dig into the back of your thighs with the chair being so big!
We bought an Easycamp Paris table/stool combo to use for mealtimes instead, leaving the chairs for relaxing in

Thanks for all the feedback. My Adjustable is quite deep and reclines a bit, so I wondered if the Commander might be more upright but it sounds as if they're quite similar, apart from the rigid arms on the C. and the three positions on the A. What a luxurious chair it is!
Is the back of the Commander high enough to lean your head back on?
Actually, my biggest concern now is whether I can get one, never mind two, in the car!
We had the same issue but still went ahead and purchased the Royal adjustable recliners. They are huge and so comfortable. We then bought a very sturdy Royal alluminium picnic stylee folding table. The type with the 4 stools attached. This is now an excellent combination for us as we really couldnt find a compromise to both relax as with the Royal recliners and to also use also for eating up to a table. They all seem to fall back just that little too far.
I bought two of the commander chairs (because they were buy one get one free and people on here said how good they are) but we haven't used them yet as without a trailer there is no way we could fit them in :( Mind you we also have a tent we haven't used for the same reason. One day in my future there will be a trailer
