We are just about to upgrade our Outwell Nevada M to a Glendale 5 and having visited one the other day was very impressed.
However one topic that is always discussed (in family) is lighting.
Outwell provide very handy cable tidies for the light but what is the best option, to hang from the middle? We have EHU and so don't need batterys - but can anyone suggest a good light or system?
I thought about hanging a mains bulb from the centre of my tent, but I was worried about heat. I'd want the bulb well below the tent ceiling which would then probably be too low to walk under. I went for a battery UFO LED light from Wilkinsons which was not too bad, but this year I'll suplement it with a mains lamp on a side table.
For my kitchen porch I've gone for 2 of these which will stick (magnetic) onto the kitchen metal windbreak somehow.
We use a mains bulb holder with an energy efficient bulb (hardly gets warm, let alone hot) and take a UFO light as back-up just in case of power failure.
We always take a torch into the bedroom in case I have to pay a visit during the dark hours, and that does it for us.
I use an ordinary table or bedside lamp fitted with an energy saving bulb and stick it on the most convenient flat surface, quite often the top of the fridge which isn't used for anything else.
I find an ordinary table lamp with a plain shade gives a nice subdued lighting. Good enough to read by but not that bright that you are a permanent shadow puppet show for those on the outside.
We use the Outwell Merope in our Glendale. It is the best light we have used but a silly price. We plug it into a dimmer socket so we can increase or decrease the amount of light you can pick them up for less than £10.

We use a simple bulkhead light and hang it next to the side door in our Hi Gear Zenobia 6. It's reliable, uncomplicated and gives off a good standard of illumination.
B & Q do a bulkhead light for less than £6 but you have to provide and fit the power lead yourself (a simple job). Alternatively, the same light is available fully wired and ready to use at £14.99 from The Range.
I agree with others here that a rechargeable or battery powered light is a must-have in case of power failures or other problems.
We have EHU and last year, I was fed up with the battery LED lights that gave off a cold blueish tint. This year, I've bought a couple of clip on warm white LED lights from Ikea - Jansjo at £9.99 each. They don't get hot, no transporting of bulbs and the flexible neck means you can point it in a direction to suit.
The clips have a rubberised grip so hopefully have plenty of places to site them.
