Hi, has anyone got one of these and if so how comfy are they? and would you advise using them with a SIM on top or on own?
We have decided that being as I have a really dodgy back, hips & knees (I just LOVE getting older!) perhaps this is the way to go. At the moment we use 2 double airbeds on top of one another but I find that if I wasnt in pain before I went to bed, I am when I get up which is not a good start to they day.
If anyone has any experience of these beds, good or bed, I would be grateful for your comments - we have a Coleman Hudson double sleeping bag which we would be using with it.
I don't own one but I have seen one. Might prove awkward with the Coleman double sleeping bag as you are a bit seperated with the centre of the camp bed. I did read on here that they were comfortable, but not really suitable if you like to snuggle up to your partner.
my hubby has a knackered back and I have pain all over most days and we got a posadas bed and we loved it, put a mattress on top followed by a fleecy fitted sheet, proper fitted sheet and then duvet. It was lovely getting in and out of bed, no crawling around on the floor. Easy to erect, can use it to store things underneath it. Had to go for a van in the end as the tent got too much for us

When we used to tent camp we used two outwell folding singles with the x-legs and the tention bars fitted to the head and foot of the bed, which were very strong and comfortable, we then lashed the two together with bungees which was quite easy and very sturdy, then finally topped them with a deep double SIM and a duvet top and bottom, as neither of us like being zipped in tightly to a sleeping bag.
The whole thing made a very good double without any dips in the middle, and we still use it as a guest bed in the awning when needed with our present caravan.

I also have a very bad back, shoulders, and knees but have a Aerobed delux, this is better than my bed at home. I tried camp beds but they didnt work for me. Aerobed's had a half price sale on recently.

How small do they fold down though? I have a distinct lack of space in my car and cant afford a new one at the moment.
My aerobed folds down smaller than the 2 camp beds we had. Its smaller than our double sleeping bag not sure of the size as packed in the roof box at moment.

Hi DEBS.
we bought a posadas double after being "let down" by yet another air bed (why can you never actually find the damn leak)I had to send back 2 before getting a fault free one but outdoor megastore gave superb service. We really like ours it does have a bar down the middle so it isnt like a normal double bed it is much more supportive than an air bed (I have no experience of aerobeds but being at the top end of the market they should be quite good)we use it with a cheap mattress topper it folds down quite small and a big advantage is the storage space you gain underneath set up and take down time is seconds. My advice would be to try the both if you could find them in a showroom somewhere.
We have one. It is surprisingly heavy to lug around, though the pack size is ok when you consider how big and sturdy it is.
I find it comfier than the thermarest thingy we used to have but not sure I'm fully converted to camp beds...
It is quite high off the ground which is good for storage underneath but if your sleeping inner is slopy, you might find it feels a bit tight size-wise.
I have slept on an aerobed (a low one) and it was really comfy, I was v impressed.
Thanks everyone, have been looking around for somewhere I can try them out for comfort, still not made my mind up which one to go for but thanks for all your help
