Hi

Has anyone got this light? If so, what do you think of it.

Been looking online for reviews of it, but noone seems to have left any!

Thanks.

Great light but cable too short. Been a thread on it recently.

Thanks for that Mike.  I did do a search before posting, but couldn't find anything.

Anyone have any recommendations for any other hanging electrical lighting?

No worries Betty. I looked at all the mains lights and the Castor for us was the best overall, let down by a ridiculously short lead.

It's relatively small so won't intrude too much into the tent living area yet gave good light output from the 40w SES low voltage bulb we tested it with.

It *looks* well sealed but is only rated 1P20 suitable for indoor use. The caravan awning type lights probably have better protection but aren't suitable for externally poled tents IMHO. I may pipe a thin bead of clear silicone around the obvious weak points.

We're going to keep it and extend the lead once I can get to a tent display show and work out where we'd bring in the EHU lead and site the EHU unit.

Let us know what you end up with.

Betty, was in GO yesterday and theirs have 5m leads. Also, in their latest booklet, it shows the light on special 16/04 to 22/04 at £12.99. Wish I'd seen that earlier

The OH works near the Go Outdoors store in Cardiff - will be sending him over on 16th April!

Thanks Mike

Betty, just make sure he checks the cable in the box. Clearly there's a mix of old and new stock out there on shelves.

Hey Mike,

Been to Go Outdoors today and purchased the light - with the 5m cable!

Can't wait to go away now to use it - sadly not camping til Whitsun!

Kampa 150 Led light , it is 12v with the adaptor to run off EHU. Unlike a lot of other LED lights it is a nice warm colour and very bright, ideal for playing games and reading. It is very cool and ever so light weight so can hang up against the roof of  the tent with ease.

The only problem with these lights is that I now want another for the awning !

Well done .

Sorry Lisa, been calling you Betty

I've extended and sealed ours, but due to being post op hors de combat we can't try it till later in summer.

Ah well, got battery LED hang up lights for the bedrooms, and have seen a sealed table lamp for the cupboard, so we'll be well lit when we do camp

Hi Mike,

Just used the light on our camping trip last week - lead was plenty long enough and was very happy with the look and the amount of light given from it!

Brilliant Lisa

We're off next week but had to switch to a static.

Hopefully we'll get chance to camp in July and say...

"let there be light.."
