Im a fan of the Aerobeds. love love love mine. We have 2 singles & push them together. However they do take up a lot of room. I prefer mine to my actual bed.
I also have decent camps beds and think its called gelert 10cm SIM and put that on top of the beds. Most I have slept this way is 5 nights. Was ok but Aerobeds for me!!! Hubs would say campbed as he likes to be of the floor.

Camping-Les-Domes-De-Miage / St Gervais Le Bains French Alps CAMPING!!! July 11 2 weeks.
Feels seriously heavy-duty and is what I ended up going for after reading hundreds of reviews from the USA and UK. Worked wonders for a week in France last year.
We have been fortunate to get a king size Outwell Avant-garde about 4 years ago. it is the highest air bed I've seen and comfy. Runs on 12 or 230 v power. Needs topping up each night. When it fails I think I'll need a compelling reason not to buy an aerobed. We make it up just like at home, complete with sheets and duvet. We used to sleep 3 in the bed till my son grew too big. He is on borrowed time before he needs one too! He sleeps on a self inflating mat at present but for how much longer I'm not sure.
It sprang a leak due to son and pal trampolining on it one year. It was a bind to find it. I used glue which stretches in order to patch it up. Presume it will harden over time and then....
Another vote for Intex double height airbed with built in pump to inflate/deflate. Ours is going on for about 7-8 years old and now used as a guest bed if needed since going back to caravananning.
We never have a problem with it deflating during the night or needing to top up all the time as some have mentioned with various airbeds.
We used the cheap insulation thats used under laminate flooring for under the airbed and a mattress topper on top and good sleeping bags and we never felt the cold.
I just use a sim when camping solo now.

Wife and son use 10cm thick Gelert SIMs, they find them warm and comfortable. The only thing with them is they take up so much space in the car !!
I have an Exped Synmat 7 which I like, it's warm, doesn't deflate, compact and comfy, problem is they are not cheep.
We used Intex raised airbeds last year 28 nightrs and no problems. We use a couple of insulated mats underneath
and then a carpet over the top of them. Lowest temp we had was -3 but didnt feel cold at all
We started with the red/blue rubber airbeds years ago and they lasted us forever, but they did finally develop leaks after 10years of use.
Having discovered EHU 2 years ago we decided to go for electric inflatable beds.
I was so lucky that I found a single/3/4 size aerobed at a carboot for £5 and took a gamble. Got it home and no leaks. That was 2 years ago and it has developed some leaks since as it has been used heavily as a guest bed, but always been able to find the leak and easily fix with stormsure. We use this for my daughters bed when we camp.
We bought the intex king size double height for me & oh as I have a bad back from an old trampoline injury I'm just shy of 40 but suffer with back pain :-( .
I find both these beds the perfect height and comfort for me, however when we can afford it, we will buy the fishing beds as these were amazing when we try them at Go Outdoors.
