Hi, two weeks ago at the Newark Camping & Caravanning Show, we bought a mattress topper which was all rolled up tightly (as they are!). We were told to unroll it and leave for 48 hours for it to go back to shape. We have actually left it for two weeks and it is still not in shape! There are two big ridges the entire length of the topper and it is not even squared off in shape on the corners. I have contacted Country Seats UK who sold it to us and they say they will refund me but only when they get the mattress back. Now, I'm reluctant to have to fork out for this as it is really quite heavy so have asked for a pre-paid postage label or something. One of their suggestions was to wait till they are back in Newark in September but why should I have to store it somewhere (where!!) for six months without being able to use it?
Has anyone else had problems like this from that particular company?

I bought one from ebay a few years ago, left it laid out on our spare bed at home for two days, and it was still 9" short in length. I contacted the seller & she sent me a replacement out by courier & I just had to pack the first one up & give it to the courier to deliver back to the seller.
Could you ask Country Seats UK to do this? It sounds ridiculous to ask you to hang onto it till September to exchange it - it's their fault, not yours

you have to be canny today if the small print says they dont pay the return postage then it gets difficult if its not mentioned they do.
september is over the 6 months period in your statutory rights dooda ,i would insist it was replaced and they issue a freepost RMA to send the old one back ,if not trot off to your local trading standards mob or citizens advice
"The Sale of Goods Act makes reference to ‘the seller’, this is the shop, the retailer, or the individual you bought it from, and is who you made the contract with. It is not the manufacturer, and don’t let the shop tell you otherwise! If there is an obvious fault with the item at any time within the first 6 months and it has not been caused by wear and tear or misuse, your first port of call must be the shop you bought it from. They have the responsibility to put the matter right, and should not evade this responsibility by referring you to the manufacturer in the context of a guarantee or warranty. Even after this 6 month period, if the item breaks down prematurely , you should always go back to the shop or retailer in the first instance.

Thats just what I thought Fatbloke - 6 months down the line is too late to replace with the sale of goods act. I hope they are not trying to pull a fast one! Anyway, I've been in touch with them again requesting a pre-paid postage label or equivalent so will see what they come up with.
Thanks for all your replies!
