I want to get a charcoal bbq to take camping with us.
Quite a few of my friends have Smokey Joe's which although lovely are pretty expensive.
I know that I can get cheaper ones in a similar style (with the three little legs and a lid) but I also wondered about the bucket style ones - Sainsburys have some in for just £10 at the moment.
Or should I go with disposable ones? Or something completely different?

IMHO, if one likes BBQing using charcoal, then one would appreciate the build quality of Weber BBQs.

if you get a bucket one please dont stand it on the grass it burns the grass ,even on bricks you can see a oblong line where the heat was close enough to scorch it.
personally i hate them theres nothing worse than someone elses smoke in your tent or worse you sitting eating a sarnie when the smoke smells of lovely burgers
just replied to another post re bbq we use one of these great for 2 people I line mine with foil put in the coals, once used let it go cold and just remove foil so easy to keep clean, I love it. The food cooks nice & even too!! By the way mine is on legs and has never scorched the grass. BBQ is a part of camping and the great outdoors.
Thanks. I don't like the idea of disposal ones for the same reason Jafa.
I think I will go for a kettle one - just don't think I can stretch to a Smokey Joe so will need to look for a cheaper alternative.
