Can any help me...?

We brought an Outwell Tennessee 6, late last year & although we love the tent for both size & layout, we do feel it needs additional shelter or an extension cover, especially when accessing the sloping front door in rain.

Having got very wet on the last day of our Easter holiday, I contacted Outwell directly on our return, asking where i could get one & they advised me that they don't do an extension for this model & could not advise an alterative, as they do not recommend mixing & matching.

Today I have been to 2 local camping shops & neither could recommend anything. It seems the Tennessee is slightly higher than most tents (225 cm) so both the Outwell Montana & Nevada do not fit!

Can anyone recommend anything??

The measurements at the front entrance is 570cm wide, 225cm high, 140cm from first pole to tent skirt.

Again, we love the tent & the storage it provides so it is not space we are after, it is purely additional shelter from the rain, so it does come straight into the tent.

Anyone else had this problem & if so, how did you get around it?
Any advise you could would be great.

Look forward to hearing from you.
Katrina

Hiya,
we have the Tennessee 5 and that was its only fault, the front when it was heavy rain, what we did was put up a tarp over the front which worked perfectly.
If you go onto the tennessee 5 tent reviews im sure one of my pictures had the tarp up?

Hi Sunny Day Camper
Thanks for the reply.
Been looking at your pictures & it looks like what we are after.
Can I ask the make & where you got it from.
Also how it attaches? Does it clip to the first pole or just tied down with guide ropes?
Sorry for all the questions, but we are relatively new to camping, but loving it!
Thanks

BenandEthan it is an Outwell poly-cotton tarp(sure any would do)
it doesn't clip to anything, just thrown over then pegged out with the guys that are on it.
such a good piece of equipment as we use it with our small tent as well.
At least doing it that way you are not adding much more length to an already big tent.
we love the tennessee tent,so much room

I agree with you about the Outwell tennasee 6. They dont do a windbreak however I can offer the following tip.

The panorama room requires a large carpet 5.5m x 2.5m as this is where we spend most of our time. Try Riverway leisure eco carpet..amazing and almost perfect fit. makes the time spend there so much more comfortable.

With regards to the windbreak the large entrance does cause some driving rain to come in, however buy a large, sturdy windbreak, pay the money to ensure metal poles, although heavier will hold back the wind and rain

Good Luck

We bought our outwell tennesse 6 last year and had the same problem.  I purchased an outwell tarp and this kept the weather out when opening and closing the door.  It took a few attempt to get the tarp positioned well so it did not fill with water.  The first time it was like a big pool of water which my usband walked into in the night ad managed to soak himself. lol.

Its worth mentioning the colour did not match but it still looked ok in my opinion.

Hope that helped.
