We used ours on a maiden voyage when it was weeing it down, items near the zip got a bit wet. We have a Honda Jazz, and water was leaking through into the car from the rack. Having said that though, we'll still be using it though with the following conditions:
1. Only when it's not forecast as torrential for the day (forecast was constant rain and blizzards...and it was right)! Hmm common sense?! (no need for sarky replies, we were testing the kit!)
2. Only when a journey is within an hour or two of home. This covers 99% of our camping so fine there.
3. We may purchase roof bars as part of next years camping kit, but there's still a whole year of camping to do!
I was realy impressed with how much (light) kit we fit in it, and it means the eldest child isn't squashed into the car. Quick to put up and down. We also bought a padlock for the zips.
We have the duffels too, they are now packed in the camping cupboard, next time just heave them onto the roof and off we go!
