can anyone tell me if the its just me or is goutdoorss advertizing offer right or slightly misleading ...anyway here goes.. if you go on there websight..theres a tfg fishing bed reduced to £46.00 from £54.00 plus an extra £15% off it just for today..when i ordered it and went to pick it up.. they said that the £15.00 was included reducing it to £46.00..yet instore the price is still £54.00..please percivere with me...so tomorrow i expect the bed to go back up to its original price...or will it still be £46.00..if so when do i actually get the extra £15% off...i know its sounds confusing..but please go on there website and see if you can understand me..anyway needless to say ive declined there offer..even though i wasted sunday morn stuck in traffick in warrinton..the petrol money..my time..etc..so if theres any rachel rileys or carol vordermans out there with an iq of a million..or any philidelphia lawyers...please can they tell me whose right..the customer or them..yours..stewey.
I looked at fishing beds today cause of the 15% off and it said that the 15% has already been knocked off but the price before and after price didn't work out right, no idea, might be worth a call to them to clarify the situation

hi diane...thanks for the quick reply.. ill not bother ringing them..itll cost me more money..i got the bed ordered to pick up from wigan..they said all sold out in warrington..but they were on the shop floor next to the disply one..again if i were to buy it ..it would have been a wasted journey to wigan...like i said until a staff member replys online and exlpains i wont be buying one..if its still £46.00 in morn and the sale has ended..then weres the extras discount...they seem to be good at this sort of thnig..i dont want to sound high and mighty .. but i use them as do most customers quiet often. and have had no probs with them..but this conumdrum has riled me up.. ill see how this post runs and see if anyone else has experianced the same sort of thinmg today...stewey
Weve noticed sometimes things are more expensive in the sales as they revert back to the "Recomended Retail Price" and then have the discount applied rather than having the discount applied to the "Normal selling price"

Went to.go outdoors today to get some tenacious tape,in the tent department it was 4.99.over by the servival equipment the same product was 5.40.I queried it with staff who couldnt explain.very odd pricing at go outdoors.
Retail businesses seem often to operate on the fundamental principle that customers are too lazy/stupid/gullible to ever see through or question their misleading and disingenuous pricing policies.
We all know of certain well-known furniture stores that appear to have "sales" constantly and yet these "sales" invariably and inexplicably "must end on Sunday."
Camping retailers are no different. Speaking for myself, I treat every visit to a retailer, especialy those boasting "sales" and "amazing offers," in pretty much the same way I would treat a knock on the door from a dodgy-looking bloke offering to sell me snake oil.
Ask questions and if the answers are vague, ask again. Don't forget, they aren't making a pricing mistake - but they hope you might.
+1. Let's do our research, and keep our eyes open and our wits about us.
It's possible the tape example is simply a local or HO pricing mistake based on incorrect departmental POS codes.
What is disingenuous is the "saving" on High Gear stuff, compared to the competition - when it's Go Outdoors own brand, and no-one sells it. Price Match not so useful then

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it
There was a rumour last year that the government was going to legislate against "own brand produts" in so much that the price they sold for in the stores would become the RRP not the highly inflated prices that we now see. They were also going to do the same thing with sales, which had to continue until all the items in the sales were sold thus doing away with the must end Sunday or for one day only

Ive got an idea why dont we all ask Go outdoors to put everything up to its full price so an Outwell Wolf lake polycotton tent would be £1550.00 and the much maligned High gear top price tent would be £900.00
Then see how quickly they go out of business leaving us with just smaller groups of retailers who have to charge full price because they dont have the buying power of Go.
Just a thought.
At the end of the day most of us would not buy something we thought was overpriced no matter how good the offer seemed to be.
If you can get it cheaper somewhere else then do so.
Agreed. I'm a big fan of Go Outdoors, got both my tents there and a lot of kit. Peeps knock them and their card, but not me. I just think RRP's on Hi Gear stuff is meaningless.

many years ago we wanted to buy a film on video. It was on the shelf with two different prices. We asked the salesperson why that would be and he told us it was down to them coming from different suppliers.
