We have just bought a secondhand Hobby caravan which will be sited rather than touring with it. It will have an electric hook up near it. Will we need a leisure battery as well or can we just use the mains? I've tried to check this out on sites and I'm still not sure! It will need new light fittings but I'm unsure if I will have to get special 12v lights or would I be able to get any flush fitting ones from somewhere like B&Q and use them as I will be using normal electricity all the time? All help much appreciated!

Your van will have a 240 /12v transformer and you shouldn't need to do anything ,you don't need a battery a lot of foreign caravans don't have them.
