We need to get a decent coolbox and reading through old threads Igloo seem to be the most recommended. Done a bit more searching and I've seen the Maxcold 50qt eg
Can't see anything about the Maxcold Premium range (the second link above) on the Igloo site, anyone know if it's a genuine item and just a discontinued line or are there 'copies' out there
We've got both an Igloo Maxcold (wheeled) and a Coleman Xtreme. From experience they both perform about the same, which is very well if you treat them right. If you have a Costco card or know someone who has they can be picked up for a lot less than via the normal outlets though they won't stock all models.
The art is to chill them down the night before, couple of bottles of frozen water will do the trick. On the day of departure drop in some ice blocks, I cover the bottom completely, and then your frozen food and a couple more 1 litre bottles of frozen water in with your chilled stuff. I also keep a sheet of that packing foam stuff to fill the void as it empties. I then add frozen stuff as we go along whilst we are away. Try not to open it too often and close the lid asap.

I have just taken delivery of my new Igloo Cool Chill 40. My brother in law has one and it is amazing. When I unpacked mine and opened it I could feel the coldness inside.
Can't wait to use it

So far!
I can't praise the Coleman Xtreme enough! Its better than our friends gas run portable fridge!
You've GOT to chill it down the night before tho, then whilst its being used we just open a bag of ice and spinkle all over. Ive known the ice stay as ice during summer for 3 days in a scorching hot tent. Its ace!
We have an Igloo Maxcold cool box and it’s great. I personally would say they are a good second hand item to buy. Not a lot can go wrong with them and you may pick up a bargain. Not sure why the 62 quart is not shown on the Igloo website, it may have been discontinued..?
As long as you look for the Igloo Maxcold range you should be fine. Just be wary that the Island breeze range is a lower spec cool box though. The Coleman Extreme range is good as well although not a lot of difference in price now between these and Igloo Maxcold.
Just bought an Igloo 50qt Island Breeze wheeled cooler today from Costco in Bristol for £44 (inc. VAT). This is a lot cheaper than they are online and 'am hoping it'll serve us well for the upcoming WOMAD festival and the camping we're intending to do throughout August. :-)
