I use the ground spikes with my Blue Diamond windbreak as I can't always bash them into the ground deep enough!
Hi helen
Is it the tubes from Towsure that you have, I have some questions if you could help please, before I go and order some to use with our Blue Diamond windbreak. How long is the actual tube that the pole sits in and does the pole fit quite tightly in the tube so it isn't wobbling about all the time. Have you used these without having to drill them in/out, I'm thinking just a block of wood on the top to hammer them in on pretty normal ground. Thanks Pete.

In days of old, when Knights were bold, and I had lots of money....
I bought two Isabella framed windbreaks for an outrageous sum.
I've also owned the wooden pole variety (plain fabric!)
The Isabella ones were OK - but nowhere near worth the price - thanks to the large number of poles that had to be threaded through & across the fabric, they also took almost as long to put up as an awning ;) (and weighed almost as much!)
The wood pole ones did the job - but you needed Sampson wielding a heavy mallet to get them to stay upright.
Returning to the camping fray after some time out, we bought a Coleman windbreak from Ebay. It was cheap (less than £30) and I wasn't really expecting it to be much good - but, such is Sod's law, it proved to be the best windbreak we've ever owned.
The flexible poles attach to eyelets at the top & bottom of the windbreak, and 8 guy lines attached to 4 pegs kept the thing bolt upright in a very stiff wind.
No top poles, but thanks to the design, no sagging.
All in all, I wish I'd bought the Coleman windbreaks first time around - and kept the £340 for the Isabella's in the bank..
