Hi everyone, decided to get a windbreak with the wooden poles as we cannot seem to get on with the ones with guy lines, getting one of those to stand up nearly ends in divorce lol. Has anyone got any preference? We are looking at the blue diamond or quest 7pole in blue :)
We have nice one, 5 panels, with guy lines, but I dont think they stand properly with the amount of lines that comes with them, so we added extra ones so guy lines are pegged from both sides. this seems to keep it taut.
We've had the Blue Diamonds in the past but when the wind is up they still need guying, may be not as much as the tent ones, I'd agree. If they are hammered in so far as to not need guying the wooden poles can break.
Just sayin....

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it
I have a 5-pole Blue Dimaond one, and can never drive the poles deep enough not to use guys to make it stable.

Go to aldi they are selling them very cheap with the wood polls I think they are about £6.00 and when you go away take an hammer and a long chislle then bang the chislle into the ground to make a deep hole for the windbreak poll it will never move.Ian
Not had a snapped pole in 6 years, and we have camped in some very strong winds. The worst that has happened is they've lent over a bit, oh and my niece's boyfriend managed to rip the fabric from the pole when he tried to jump over it!

Well after reading comments on here and various threads, just ordered a 7pole blue diamond, don't know how we will fit it in the car.......... :)
Put the poles across the passengers laps of them in the back. Keep them altogether with a bungee cord. If wet when packling up, pop onto those big bin liner bags acrss the back seat laps again.
