We have camped for 20 years and only got ehu last year. What a luxury being able to put the fan heater on for a bit last thing at night or early morning! The biggest downside is that once you have got used to this you do miss it if you go without.
We have bought an electric hotplate, an electric travel kettle and a fan heater but will still keep our gas cookers. If we are paying for EHU then we might as well use the electric for cooking but I take the single burner stove as well.
