We have a 'made to measure' tent carpet which has acquired a small tear to the pvc backing. What would you recommend for fixing it? Are there patches that you can get from suppliers or should I contact the manufacturer for advice?

I would just use some gaffa tape, gorilla tape, whatever brand you like.

tenacious tape gets good write ups too, you've probably got that in your camping cupboard already.
