No problem running a double burner, and since the gas will be at the same pressure, it should last almost a third as long as your 15kg one does, with similar usage.

The smaller the cylinder you buy the less value you get so working on that philosophy you would be better opting for the 7kgs. if possible in terms of value for money anyway.

I'd guess that with "normal" use it should last quite a bit longer than six days. If you're worried about exactly how much is left in a part-used Calor cylinder, weigh it and subtract the tare weight (marked on the aluminium "collar" - it's in pounds and ounces though!) to give the weight of the remaining gas.

A 4.5kg cylinder just used for cooking etc as described in the op will probably last a whole season at least.

Worth pointing out that 4.5 kg Calor butane uses screw on regulator so you will need a new one if you change from 15kg bottle. The 7kg bottle uses same 21mm clip as 15kg.

Hi, thanks to all for their input.
I think I'm going to go for the 7kg (I can get an empty one to swap) It's not that much bigger than the 4.5kg and saves having to get another regulator.

Officially they are not supposed to, but our local supplier did, I think probably as he was not a caravan specialist, more a garden and builder's merchant place, so not so much demand for the 7kg.

I work for a national builders merchant and will swap any size bottle for any size refilled because as a national account holder for the gas company we only have to return a bottle to them and it is not size related.
