Hi all, I have a Halfords roofbox which has served us very well, but is beginning to look decidedly used. Has anyone had any success in painting a roof box? If so, what paint did you use, and what were the results like?

Yes we painted our old old top box which was looking very sad, cleaned it, sanded it down and applied 2 coats of "Hammerite" paint. We used the Hammer finish one but they also do a smooth version 18 months later and it still looks 100 times better than it did, hasnt cracked or chipped

have you tried bumper restoration products? might make it a smaller job if it's just a bit scuffed?

Hi, that's a big help, thank you. I think I'll have a stab with Smoothrite.

I've looked at various plastic paints, but the roofbox is enormous, and to buy sufficient paint would have cost a fortune.

Unfortunately, the box is beyond localised repairs. Structurally it's sound, it just looks a a bit tatty.
