Hi, just come back from this and can safely say there are more tents than last year, but Kampa is missing, ditto Easycamp. Lots of bargains to be had should you be in the market for a new/extra/replacement tent  and if you're not, fun to have a mooch around and see them in the flesh. It's in a lovely setting within a garden centre and a pleasant way to while away an hour or two. Didn't buy anything today but I may be going back...without the OH...

Hi Eileeen - no Hi Gear (Go Outdoors brand)but masses of other gear (apologies for the pun ).

Winner of the 'most interesting thing I spotted' award: a curved windbreak with poles top and bottom (Outwell). Very sturdy - but for over £100 it should be!

Semi-circular windbreak

Ah, another one: the Sunncamp polyester canvas frame tent was cute too.

After going in and out of quite a few models, I'm still struck by the irritating SIG thresholds. Why oh why can't all the tents have fold-down doorways? Some almost need a good run-up... I think the doors could be longer on the outside to cover the join and include velcro or some other kind of closure should that be needed to hermetically seal the tent. I can't be the only one who thinks this?

While I'm on a roll... I still don't see the point of the incredibly sloping fronts on many tents - these cut down on space and would also let rain in via the doors. Or is this just me?

Ooh i didn't realise it was on yet even though i know its May lol. I usually see a post reminding me that it will be happening soon :(
Having my op on Tuesday so may not even get there this year :( Do you know how long it goes on for?
I look around the trailer tents the same way, they never seem to do what i would want them to do lol. Luckily they don't as i can't afford a new one lol.

We went yesterday and bought a Vango Omega 250 for only £99 - a really good deal. We're going to dip our toes into the water of motorbike touring this summer so needed a small tent with room to keep the bike gear dry so this was perfect. Probably heading off to Brittany in July

And yes, it's a lovely place to spend a few hours - I could have spent a fortune in the garden centre!

Any ideas what sort of saving could be made on a Bear Lake 6, retailing on the whole for £999. If anyone notices what they are asking let me know thanks. I assume bartering is expected ?

Thanks in advance

Cal.
