Can anyone recommend any electric lanterns please? We've been using the outwell falcon deluxe ones and to be quite honest, I've found them to be rubbish! I don't know where to start in deciding what to get so all suggestions welcomed! Thanks x

normal lamp!! with low energy bulbs does us
Good idea!
My other half made his own hanging light last week and can't wait to use it next week.We gunna hang it from the hook in the middle of our outwell nevada. No more wind up lights!! (but will use with a low energy bulb)
One 3amp plug, 5m of light cable, standard light fitting (without the ceiling bit attached), one shade and bob's your uncle.
I would never advocate a lekkie novice doing this but any normal handy man who knows his stuff could make it ( the shade cost more than the bits by the way!)
What about a tasklight I use one of these in the awning. They are low wattage and as tough as old boots so very safe.
Beggar it, cant get the link thing to work, copy and paste this into your browser.
Exactly what we have now Bevsem, ran out of surface space for lamp so 0H made his own, only problem now is the lamp hook is right at the front of the tent and everyone can see in! but never mind!

We have one of these Ikea lamps in our hallway and intend to take it with us for the tent. The plastic shade 'snaps' on and are fully enclosed so even if the bulb got broken it wouldn't hurt anyone or make a mess.

2013
Planning to go to Holland for 2 weeks camping in August BUT the planning is giving me a headache!
I have two of the above lanterns, one I bought from Alpkit for £15 and one from a Hong Kong seller on eBay for £8 with free p&p, arrived within a week. They are excellent, also identical apart from colour.

Snap, though we find the HK one somewhat brighter than the Bulb II (Alpkit) The lumens count on the Alpkit is less than the one posted above iirc.
