Hello!

We're getting ready for our first trip of the year in a couple of weeks time and have just realised that our daughter has grown out of her Baby Nitestar sleeping bag she used last year.  There seem to be some very mixed reviews of kids sleeping bags so just wondered if anyone had really strong recommendations? There's no way she'll accept not having a sleeping bag as her brother has one.....

Thanks all

Sam

Off to Cotswold Farm Park in 2 weeks time. Trip to north Wales in the school holidays....and hopefully lots of weekends away as well!

We use the Outwell kids sleeping bag with the dinosaurs on it for our youngest who is now four and a half. We have been using it since he as two and it keeps him snug and warm. I would highly recommend it. There is a girls equivalent but can't quite remember the design. Maybe butterflies I think. Hope this helps and enjoy your camping trip

Just had a quick look on Amazon. It's a pink sleeping bag with flower design. Very nice and it's currently £18.49 which is a very good price. You may get it a wee bit cheaper if you do a search online.

I was getting all ready to post up about the Vango Nitestar Baby, then I re-read your post and realised that your little one has already got one of those and has out-grown it. Our boy is 2 this weekend and is quite small for his age so I'm hoping he still fits his one (we're off camping tomorrow!). I'd be interested to know what the next step is when he gets too big for it though.

Robnchar I was about to suggest that or tied in the middle (or below your childs feet if not the middle).

Though the flowers/dinosaur ones do sound good and cheap adult one will not be much less than that.

our just turned 3 year old has an Outwell cloud sleeping bag, it has a zip up part at the bottom which you unzip and open as they get bigger. She has been in this bag since last summer, my 6 year old has one as well so hopefully they will both be in them for some time to come.

We have a gelert kids 3 season mummy bag which like the outwell one has the zip section at the bottom to adjust length as they grow.  Think it was around £30.

Getting an adult bag and tieing a bungee or something just past feet as someone already suggested will work just as well and work out cheaper probably in the long run.

The Outwell ones do looks good, I've also been looking at the Gelert Junior Sleeping Pod - does anyone have any idea what they are like? I quite like the fact that they are a bit wider as my daughter is quite a wriggler!

Thanks for all your comments so far

or you could buy a duvet and fold it almost in half and Velcro the sides together... because at 2yo they are half their final height so logic suggests half a normal duvet should be perfect.

link to kids peppa pig bag reduced

I saw this on the moenysavingexpert site, and thought of you.

I don't think the original price of £24 is very realistic, but sale price of £6 is reasonable.

Like a couple of posters we use an adult bag tied in the middle to stop our grandson sliding down.

As he gets taller, we tie the bag lower down - future-proof.

Just ordered the Pepper Pig sleeping bag - thanks for the link. Couldn't resist at that price.

Will still probably use the ready bed with it too though, for our 2 year old.

Many thanks to ailurotoo for the link to the sleeping bag, I had an odd £1 clubcard voucher to use so got the peppa pig sleeping bag for my 3yr old at a bargain price of £5.01
