Hi, background is have bought an Erde 122 with hardtop. No keys for locks however. Now is it an easy matter to get new keys or new barrels for the locks? A quick call to Halfords saw me given a £46 odd quote for new locks??!! Must be a cheaper option??!! Help appreciated!

If your handy with a drill, add on a snib/clip that you can put a padlock through, rather than replacing keys, or try hardware/iron monger style shop as they may be cheaper then Halfords.

What about trying Erde directly ... they may be able to supply spares?

 of course  it is the entire new shiny makers lock as used by , um , um , hundreds of poor sods that lose their keys and keep these folks in lobsters and puligny montrachet.

Any decent locksmith shop can sort this out cutting them to code.There are even people who can do this mail order.

Look on the locks themselves for some numbers.

Failing that take it to someone so they can decode the lock and cut you a key or use a technique called impressioning to make a key to fit the lock.

It should be far cheaper than replacement prices you have so far.
