Hi
Newbie question here. We were looking at buying a cooler or a fridge for a trip to France, but now are wondering if we could save money by just bringing along our beer fridge(one of these)...
Get yourself one of these as well, very handy when in France as some sites don't have the European connection.
Fridge should be fine, have seen them being used in the past.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Yes it will work ok in France, as mentioned take an adaptor in case site has domestic plug sockets but most French sites now have the universal blue white socket. Your local camping/caravan shops will stock adaptors.
A domestic compressor fridge is better than a camping fridge as it will maintain cold temp even in hottest weather.
We had one of those but after a lot of looking into it decided to not take it camping as most are drink-safe but not food safe. They get cold enough to chill cans but don't get down to the temperature required to keep dairy, meat, etc fresh - especially risky if you are going to a hot area of France! We bought a tabletop domestic fridge from eBay instead & it works a treat - & I don't have the worry of food poisoning in a tent!
