Just getting prepared for this years camping trip, having done my tent check in the garden today I notice the beginnings of splits in my tent poles. They may last yet don't want to risk it and wish to get some spares.
My pole sizes are - 305cm x 7.9mm & 510cm x 9.5mm
Any recommendations on where to get the best durable spare sets?
Don't know where you are located but Jackons of Old Arley have a "recycle box" of tent and awning poles, £1 each when I last used it. Expect other larger camping suppliers might have similar.
I can highly recommend TentSpares who carry an excellent stock of standard or cut-to-fit replacement poles. I've bought several from them over recent years, they deliver quick and the products are good. Buy singles or in packs etc.
------------- Experience enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
I bought a brand new (almost) tent, just for the 120 ish poles that it came with. At £20 I thought it would be a cheap solution. Trouble is, that the tent did look unused, and I could never bring myself to scrap the tent. Even though I have never used it. It was a copy of the Vango Diablo.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
