Hi

As new campers, I'm trying to build up the bits and pieces we need and I'm hoping for some advice on lanterns/lights.

I bought a wee remote LED light from Go Outdoors and while it's a bright light, it's very harsh and cold.

I know I'm probably being a girly novice camper, but can anyone recommend a light that gives a nice cosy light instead of a cold harsh light?

Don't want to rely on EHU so batteries or gas?

Any advice would be great!

Personally I use these

I have come back to camping after a 10 year break and they still work well.

They are a doddle to fit to the gas bottles and light very easily.

Gas lights seem to be out of fashion but they give much nicer light and also help heat the tent a bit.

Other campers have also commented on how nice the light is.

I know exactly what you mean about the LED lights, mak71. I have one and it's bright but harsh.

I also have a Coleman Collapsible lantern which gives a much warmer, cosy light. Runs on batteries.

Cant beat the old fashioned Campinggaz lanterns. Would rather have this than anything else and the gas lasts for ages.
