I'm not sure if the roasting tin location is right. I've successfully done three roasts at home using the roast tin.. Tis weekend I forgot what went where and looked on the PDF above, but I got burnt and I mean burnt potatoes and chicken.

The heat was directly onto the roast pan, even with the official roast pan holder upside down. The roast pan should be a non direct heat source. My friend used his on top of BBQ plate and had perfect pork.

I will have to look at my pictures on here and see if I used the deflector last time.

My roast tin looks like it is ruined now, inside is peeling. :(

I am sorry Biff0r, surely if your roast pan has been ruined because of Cadac's illustration being wrong they would have to replace F.O.C.
I have looked at your post showing the roast chicken etc. and notice you used the black fat pan, this seems a better way than Cadac's picture because the heat circulates and is not direct.

I used the fat catcher pan as it was as per instructions on the box. Think I will contact them.

I have sent email to Cadac asking if the illustrations are correct. Definitely think it is worth you emailing them. I feel responsible because I posted the link with good intentions
It was your pics that convinced us to purchase Carrie Chef, not used it yet though

Don't worry, I got the pdf from cadac ages ago. It was only after we had major problems with our roast I went back on iphone and looked at my pictures and noticed I had used the fat catcher.

I would not worry at all, but I will ask Cadac also as I am 90% sure the box did say use the fat catcher.

Pretty sure i used the fat catcher and possibly the diffuser undertake roast try when I used mine. In unrelated news the recipe I posted for Mediterranean stew is fantastic.

Reply from Cadac re. roasting pan

I down loaded your Carrie Chef Quick Guide, it shows the roasting pan just sitting on the pot stand, is this correct?

This is the correct setup.

I had same reply, even tried to explain the error (as I see it ), they have just offered me a new roasting pan instead.

So are they wrong? They are sending me a new roast pan.......
The box in which the roast pan ca,e in, did state using the fat tray, once the replacement comes I will re-read and provide photos.
