Hi, has anyone used a new iPad on either 3G and/or wifi at Jasmine Park campsite? Firstly I am trying to see which is the best network provider on a payg data deal and also how strong Jasmine Parks Wifi is in a Tent? I see that the campsites own wifi is rather expensive at £20 per week, so I am open to all info on this..
Many thanks

Although I can't advise about Jasmine Park - I got a 3G sim for my Ipad, as were were away the past couple of days in Rosneigr = found that the coverage could vary for no real reason - apart from possible the weather was affecting it. One minute it would be really quick and the next so slow as to be useless.
I suppose a lot would depend on what you wanted it for - general browsing and it was fine - but I would not have like to rely on it if I needed to stay connected.
Have a look at the all you can eat from 3 i use it in a phone tethered to my laptop,to tether though you would also need to be on the one plan, but for a sim in an ipad i think its just all you can eat,the chap in the dandy next to me watched the football last night on his ipad via 3.

------------- they said it couldnt be done so i left it and went camping
a bad days camping is better than a good day at work
If you go on the service providers web site they should have a coverage checker just type in postcode for camp site your visiting and it'll let you know what the coverage is for it
I agree with mike wilkinson: if you have a good data allowance and can tether your laptop/ipad through your mobile phone connection it can be cheaper than buying a dongle.
However if you don't have a data plan you could just buy a PAYG dongle - which you could then use at other sites (reception permitting). At £20.00 for 7 days I feel this is expensive unless of course it is an ultra fast wireless broadband connection
We got an O2 iPad PAYG sim and just top it up when we go away.. they do £10 or £15 a month depending on what data you need and if you don't want it to top up again the next month you can just cancel your payment.
Coverage wise we were at St Leonards Farm, near Bournemouth, over Jubilee weekend and the coverage was awful. Our mobile phones are both with Vodafone, which had great 3G connection, but the iPad was struggling and was very slow to do anything. We're tempted to get a Vodafone Sim too for future instances of this happening.
£20 for WiFi seems a bit heavy to me.. other campsites we've visited have offered free WiFi which is how it should be IMHO.

Nah as a ICT man my self i would get a GiffGaff sim
All you can eat data for a tenner a month :-)
order a free sim from there website..
They use the 02 network also u cna top it up with o2 top up card giffgaff site
I rate GiffGaff too, the service works well, BUT... beware that the unlimited data is for conventional mobile phone use only; for ipads for example, they offer Data only sims. GG are implementing technology to identify if you're using standard sims in ipads and imposing a restriction on data use.
