We have a canopy that we used to use with our Khyam tent. It is the same material as the tent and fastened to the tent with guy ropes and has poles and guy ropes for the front to hold it up. I have come up with what I think is a good idea to use it with our caravan. Thinking that if I could get hold of something that I could attach to the canopy which would then enable me to thread it through the awning rail on the van. Does anyone know of anything I can buy to enable me to do this?
Thanks in advance Shirl's

Thanks for the reply that stuff looks good. I get what you say about the poles for the awning not making it tall enough and that is something we have to check when we bring the caravan home from storage. OH seems to think it will slope quite a bit and may have to ditch the idea. But I thought it was worth a try.
If anyone has any ideas regarding canopies for caravans I would be grateful. We have a porch awning but OH detests putting it up and to save all the domestics we have come to an arrangement that we only use it when we are away for 5 days or more . We have looked at lightweight awnings but have been told that if it is windy you have to take them down so we shelved that idea.
Many thanks Shirl's

I have the OR Easi Canopi for my caravan which gives a lovely shaded area for eating:
As with any sort of canopy, it is best to take it down in very stroing winds. I have only had to take mine down twice - it can withstand quite a bashing from high winds!
I have got one of those khyam tie on sunshades- we use it with our caravan which has eyelet type metal things on the awning rail and we tie the ties through the holes. The other thing is long guy ropes thrown over the top of the caravan and pegged down the other side.

If OH is not keen on putting up the awning then what about one of these a good sized day room, (3m X3m), in 4 different colours.
You can unzip just one side or all four. You can even make one side a sun canopy.

Thank you for your idea Griff, but I am afraid OH would think it was too much like a tent.
