Has anybody any experience of a bak rak - see www.bak-rak.com.

its a rack that fits onto your tow bar and means you dont have to tow a trailer and ideal i hope for tent and bits n bobs....but is it any good and also did did yoiu fit it to a swan or ball type fitting

Thanks - i believe Thule are bringing out similar piece of kit as Bak Rak to fit onto tow bar

I like the idea of the bak rak - reduces drag over roof top box (which can be noisy - had one on my land rover and couldnt hear the radio!) and dont want to tow a trailer. Just seems an awful lot of a load just fitting onto the ball of the tow bar

Don't think this would be a problem providing you kept within the vehicle manufacturers towball limit - remember to include the weight of the carrier itself in your calculations.
