as its a headache trying to get the caravan level and also get the alko receiver in line to take the lock, we were looking at these:

I understand your problem,as i had the same problem and after reading a similar post on this forum i altered my plan of doing things, which was to line up the reciever and insert the lock first and then use a jack to level the van which worked easier but then gave me the problem of supportting it, that is till i bought the Millenco leveller as this needs no extra support as it sits under the tyre like any other blocks would.

Upto now i have only used mine 3 times and i am happy with it, the only problem i have found is if you are along way of level it can take some time to wind it up as it only has a fine thread, i have seen people use a cordless drill before but not me yet.

My opinion would be to get one, if you find its not for you they will resll very easy on E Bay.

I've never had a caravan but I seem to recall, when these have been discussed before(possibly elsewhere?),folk recommended sitting them on a sturdy board when using them on grass, as they sink in...and in doing so end up getting jammed in place.

(..as I say, we don't have a van, so don't know how true that is..).

Probably a daft question but doesn't just a selection of ply boards/similar, do the job?...Pull onto pitch, "guesstimate" what thickness of pads you need, roll back a little, then roll forward onto ply pads ?(...that's how  I've watched my brother pitch his up on umpteen occasions).

Are these just another "must have" camping/caravanning gadget...?
