We have just bought a new tent and, for the first time, have got a tent carpet for the living area.
The wife is a little concerned about keeping it clean while we are away, so hopefully you can help.
Please can you let me know what you take with you to keep the carpet clean of day to day mess. I have looked at carpet sweepers, but they seem a bit big to pack in the car.
we have one of the old fashioned carpet sweepers, works a treat, the handle screws together in 4 sections and when taken apart the handles store in the bottom of the sweeper.
We got it from my wifes Grandmother who never used anything else so it is a little bit of an antique bit i have seen This sweeper which packs down fairly small, i am sure there will be others around that pack nice and small
I've got a G-tech rechargable sweeper and it's great.
I use it at home all the time, and joked to husband (whilst using tent carpet for the first time last bank holiday) that it might be good for our tent carpet. He totally agreed!!! shock, horror!!!
You can remove the handle and then the base is usual sweeper size.
I will definitely be taking away with us on longer trips.
Every couple of days we take all the furniture (only chairs, table and couple of crates) out and shake the carpet outside. It's only a big picnic rug after all!

The pen is mightier than the sword - but only if the sword is very small and the pen is very sharp...
We got a sweeper from Argos, 4 section handle as suggested above. Very very good, 2 minutes very morning and like new, despite a couple of dogs, one of whom moults constantly.
