I'm thinking about purchasing a dutch oven, but not sure which size I should go for. 4 liters? 6 litters? 8 litters? Any ideas?

Id personally go for the biggest you can . We have a 12 ltr for four of us but it does every thing from a fried breakfast . bread , pies , a roast too a huge stew for 20 plus when needed  , every time i see a smaller dutch oven i do wonder how much you can do in them . We have the Dutch oven and a selection of stainless pans. A 4 ltr with loop handle by Tatonka and an Alpine nesting set 2 ltr and 1.5 ltr by MSR . they all nest inside each other . which if you have a pan set could be a good guide to the size of dutch oven just on a space saving aspect

Thanks for the advise Rob.   I'll go for the biggest one as you recommend. :-)

Also, anyone recommend Heavy Duty Campfire Grill or Tripod to use with the dutch oven?

Try Here for all your Bushcraft cooking equipment. I (and most others on here) have bought from Ronnies and can't fault the goods and service.

I'd suggest that you get a couple of Dutch ovens so you have a choice (you never said how many you cook for) you will also have the option of a double cook (stacking) if you need to.

The RS tripods are great, but they are not very tall so you will struggle if you use a firepit on legs. As Rob says, you can make a tripod yourself. - I'll leave it to him to enlighten you on how ;)
