I'm just back from a one night test, prior to my 10 night tour of Scotland.
I've previously used inflatable mattresses, but decided that I couldn't be bothered with the hassle. I also don't like the bouncing sensation.
I bought a Thermarest Basecamp on EBay and off I went for my one night test. I'm a side sleeper and I woke with sore hips!
The only other option is for me to buy a Dreamtime or revert to an inflatable.
After looking at the Dreamtime, I see that the only difference between it and the Basecamp is the inclusion of a slice of memory foam.
If I buy two 3" thick offcuts (36"x24") online, isn't this the same?

Thanks. I did a search and found someone selling them.
However, £80 for a piece of memory foam and a cover does seem a bit excessive.
I think I will buy two offcuts and loosely join them together.
