yes if you can stand the noise, we preferred an oil filled radiator, as its silent and can be left on during the night, the only fault with the oil filled is that it isnt instant as it has to warm up,

 oh, and they are bigger and take up more room!!

We use a fan heater in our tents - you just need to check the wattage of the heater and ask the site what supply they have.

We have only ever used our heater on the 1kw setting and this is more than enough to heat our 8 berth tent.
Personally, I don't find the noise of the fan heater too loud or distracting.
