I have also got a queen sized Intex, double height and I find it very comfortable and a double deep fitted sheet fits on it nicely with a sleeping bag opened out underneath for insulation. only one negative is it is a bit too bif for my 6 man tent and can only fit another standard double beside it. there is plenty of room on it,

I would definatley recomend this

I use the king size jersey sheets from Lidl's and they are just right for my Intex Queen double height . I also put the sheet on the bed and then marked out where the pillows would go and stitched 2 pillow cases to the sheet so now the pillows stay put all night. If you open the pillow cases out you can fit 2 pillows into each one. A bit fiddley but only needs to be done once (or twice if you want a change) and then it's comfort every night.

if you are going to get king or queen make sure it fits in the pods....

We bought a king double height aerobed only to find that it didn't fit in our bedroom pods! The issue has gone away with our new tent, but, just think of the dimensions!

We have found fitted valance sheets the best for raised airbeds. Queensize are a pain to get, so try and stick with King or normal double/single.

Thanks for the advice. Any recommendations? Don't really want to spend £90 on an airbed!

We've used Queen sized airbeds for some years now. All have been Intex, all have lost pressure overnight for the following reasons.

A. The vinyl stretches under pressure and gives the impression that the bed is deflating.

B. The bed also does deflate, and giving it a top up for a few seconds with a flick of the pump switch, causes reason 'A' to carry on happening.

The stretching makes the bed get bigger and this puts the internal top to bottom tie sections under stress and they eventually split, and then the bed gets even larger where that section has failed.

Even so, you'll get 2 - 3 years out of the bed if used for 6 weeks a year.

Always remember to deflate the bed, by 50%, each morning to stop the heat of the day causing the air in it to expand and stretch the heat softened vinyl even more!

We have just killed our 3rd Intex, and are about to try an Aerobed Active Dual Zone, which although less wide, has two independent sections.
