Sorry to hijack - I've just bought one of the bargain camping gaz double burners from tesco too, but remember reading on here that it was better to get a calor gas bottle as this is cheaper to refill - can anyone tell me what exactly I'm looking for re the bottle and regulator - a local shop is selling a camping gaz 907 2.5 kg (full) for £25 but I've got no idea whether this is a good deal or even the right size or whether to investigate the calor option...please help!
when you get your first bottle you need to pay a one off charge for your first cylinder often called a deposit
I would say the £25.00 907 is the price with an exchange cylinder so i doubut you would get one for that price with no empty cylinder
if you buy a 907 and pay the deposit it will cost you £50 to £60 first time and then £25.00 every time you have a refill
a calor 4.5kg with the deposit will cost £45 to £55 for your first time and around £15 o £18 to refill so more gas for less money, if you can get any empty calor cylyinder on this list
Calor exchange table
so if you can get any of the blue or red cylinders on that list from a reycycling centre the local tip or a scrap yard e bay or freecycle take the empty in and just pay for the refill
calor 4.5kg
if you get a calor 4.5kg you will need
calor 4.5kg regulator
if you get a campingaz 907 you need
campingaz 907 regulator
you need an empty first try all of the above and ask your friens and neighbours you never know you may get lucky and find one and save a good few quid on the deposit
