i've bought two led worklights from lidl, one has 27 leds and the other has 60, both came with 240v chargers plus with cigarette socket adaptors to charge them
they have a hook on one end to allow you to hook them up in your tent as well
really useful items that i've used when i've needed to under my landrovers, used them both when camping and also used one as a reversing light one night when i was out 'laning and came across a fallen tree
once fully charged they've served me for a long weekends camping without any trouble, i think they've got a two and a half hour continuous rating on them, i only use them for getting settled in the tent or walking to the toilets and finding things in dark corners
for a tenner each i think they're great value and if i really wanted to use one continually at night i guess i'd just hook up a socket to a car or motorcycle battery and then plug the adaptor in
i've also got an aldi wind-up torch with three leds in it, one press lights up one led, next press lights up all three, on one led and a decent wind i can hang it in the top of my tent from 11-12 midnight round to the following morning and have enough illumination to find my shoes for the trek to the toilet should i wake up (highly likely if there's been alcohol consumed)
i think that one cost me a fiver
another idea i've seen for small tent illumination is just a single blue/white led attached to a long lead and heatshrunk sealed the other end of the lead went into a small battery/switch box that contained two pencil batteries, this was built by an angler for his weekend carp fishing excursions, nice, tidy, small and clipped up in his bivvy using velcro
headlights can be useful but i'm not a big fan of them
personally i don't like bright illuminations when i'm camping so the softer the light the better unless it's fire where i like a nice glow and a few flames
i've never even considered a dedicated lamp for camping
