we went to the camping exibition in wokeingham , i was pleased to find a few things i was looking for including a tent, on going to pay for it and i thought take it home the salesman said i could only order it and pick it up a week later ! i asked would they post it as we have come a long way he said no . not happy ;(
What tent was it? We've bought a couple from there in the past and they had them in stock. I too have also found the staff extremely friendly and helpful.
it was a sunncamp elan 400 . the staff were very nice , and i did buy some things that i couldnt get at my local camping shop plus it was a nice day out . just a shame i couldnt buy the tent, it was the same price online so i ordered it. rather than traveling for an hour on the m3 to collect it .

hi, all went last year a got exdisplay side extension for my vango tent and was alot cheaper than new one just went back at the end and took it down .
one thing i will say is most of the stuff there you can get cheaper online unless you are buying the exdisplay stuff apart from that its a good show to go to if you want to touch and feel your next purchase ,and yes don't for get the wellies .
I live in Wokingham so have already been a couple of times, just because I like to have a potter around the tents just to be nosey!
I have noticed that on the price tickets they do state whether tents are available in stock or available to order. I guess because they are not a permanent site that they can't stock all the tents.
I thought the prices weren't too bad there actually. We knew the few bits and bobs we wanted and checked the prices online before we went, and actually found that the exhibition was a few quid cheaper. We got an Outwell windbreak for £39 and a very good hook up lead for £39 with sockets arranged so that you can actually use all three plugs.
den den - glad you managed to get the tent you wanted in the end - and at least you got to see it "in the flesh" before you bought it which is always nice. Still quite a distance from you, but a bit closer then Wokingham, Frensham garden centre also have a really good tent display - when you're ready for your next tent.
I agree, I have found the prices to be competitive. I bought a Coleman Extreme cooler from them a couple of years ago and it was cheaper than buying on the web.
Last year I went to the Codicote Exhibition (same organisers) and they had the CP250 Campingaz Canister on offer for a £1:00 a can for a box of 12 - which again was a great price.
