Hi

We've just got a leccy hook up for the tent and we were wondering if there is a need for a heater in tents..........I think just maybe for last thing at night/first thing in the morning and to maybe extend the season a bit for us??.

Which type of heaters are suitable/safe for tents??.

Is a fan heater ok or are halogen ones safer??

Any opinions welcome!!

We have a Halogen Heater that we got from Towsure for a tenna.  It is brilliant and really takes the chill off at night and first thing in the morning.  To be honest I wouldn't be without it  - can't stand to be cold !!

Yes we love using our little fan heater in the tent during the chilly periods of the day (or at least whenever we're in the tent!!). 

As long as your ehu is safe i can't see any reason why it wouldn't be okay to use in a tent if you use a bit of common sense....

I've just bought a halogen heater ( 400w / 800w ) from poundstretcher for £7 - a bargain.

It's got two heat settings, and has got a tilt device, which basically turns itself off if hit over.  The reason I went for tthis heater is after reading all the other posts on here, but I must say I have not used it in the tent, yet !

.......and if you want to go to a site without eleccy then go for the Coleman Black Cat Heater, designed specifically for tents and it's flameless.

Are they very big and where do youget them from and how much do they cost Ta!!

we have a small fan heater, bought it from argos about £8, kept us warm in october in the wind and rain.  Although we are n ow going to get a halogen heater as well.  i need my warmth
