My only experience is that the Camping Bistro style the pan holder section sits inside the unit. Whereas on Gelert/Hi gear they just sit on top and I don’t find as stable (owned both Bistro & Hi Gear)
Is it me or does the flame sit closer to the canister on the new design 'compact' stoves? Prefer the old design myself, if a design ain't broke, don't fix it!

The pen is mightier than the sword - but only if the sword is very small and the pen is very sharp...
I prefer the new style, from a safety point of view, you cannot put the pan over the top of the gas bit. because it bulges up.
The older style was far too easy to use too a too big pan and just overlap the gas compartment, risking the overheating of the cartridge.
bought 2 of these 2weeks ago thet were £9,99 then so looks like you got a bargain good thing I noticed with them is there not quite as wide as others so we can fit 2 together on our kitchen top inside the width of the wind break
Just bought 2 of the Go Outdoors Hi Gear ones and were very disappointed with them. One had to go back as the top was bent and did not sit flat over the flame. When we went to use the replacement the flame was so poor the only way to get a full flame was to hold the dial full to the left (at the light position). Never used the other one but took them both back and bought a campinggaz one from Argos instead.
The guy in Go said they were very hit and miss on quality but I would not recommend them, even at their current £5.99 price.
