As others have mentioned the pole for the eyebrow porch over the nevada m side door is too long and we were completely unable to fit it for fear of ripping the canvas.

Should I return it to Outwell or try to fix it myself?

I'm a bit worried I get the measurement wrong or damage the pole and then Outwell have nothing to do with it as I've damaged the item.

More than a bit frustrated the item isn't fit for purpose as I would have expected from reasonable quality tent

Myself, as with others, have just cut some off - each end if you wish. Just don't cut through the elastic cord !! I think I did about a total of one inch.

Does the trick, takes the tension off the door zips.

We had to amend the same on the Outwell Nevada XL - we asked for a replacemet that actually fitted from Outwell and they sent the same pole again (free of charge but still too big!).

So partner cut ours down, like the other posts have mentioned, bit by bit, and now it fits. He did the same to the new one so now we have a spare.

So annoying that Outwell have known about this for sooo long and still havent rectified it.

Hope you get sorted soon. xxx

Hi I'm Bevsem's partner. Cured this by cutting roughly 21/2 in off each side of the horizontal then tightened up the elastic. ( Partly hacksaw where needed then use pliers to take off the extra ).

Very helpful sales assistant in Go Outdoors committed to shortening the poles having contacted Outwell who gave guidance re size. He agreed to do it himself and have them ready for collection on Wed.

I can't believe this fault is still ongoing, will be interesting to see if you have a 2012 in the black bag! I had this problem with my nevada XL (2010).

I too had to take off at least 2 inches from the horizontal pole, and then, stupidly, managed to put it through the flysheet when putting up the tent

It seems some people have never had a problem, also advising to put the porch pole in before fully erecting the rest of the tent... which could be where the rest of us went, or are going wrong??

We have the 2011 version and ours fits in but it is a real struggle. I make OH do it so I can blame him if it perforates the tent! Perhaps we`ll shorten it as suggested.
