costing only a £1 obviously
Packet of 8 ground sheet pegs with peg puller
Long wire pegs for extra pegging in very soft ground. (These are thin so only for reinforcing)
Emergency shelters - rip down the middle and use for footprint under groundsheet. Buy a few as this stuff is seasonal.
Enamel plates
Hanging wash bag
2x1 tarp. This is small but invaluable for putting down on the wet grass when packing and unpacking.
heavy duty bin bags for loo bucket

I saw those after we paid about £4 elsewhere. the glow sticks, 2 for £1 are good too. Nice glow in tent on an evening, especially in the night if you need to get up, not too dark when you wake.

Love shops like that, Homebargains and B & M too.

every year i buy 2 or 3 groundsheets from poundland.use themin porch, then if too muddy can just throw away and have not wasted too much money!!!!

Those 2 x 1 tarps are well 'andy.....
We used one at the back of the car, to lay stuff out before loading up, as lauded by the OP, but also, if you know how to switch a sewing machine on, a batch of these soon turn into made-to-measure bags for absolutely any camping gear that came in a box, but no bag...... just add webbing for the handles, and you turn up on site with practical, size-perfect carry bags, that are a match for anything the Beckhams would have carried into The Ritz for them........ well, sort of!!

I forgot to mention the silicon sheet. You know that feeling when your pan starts to slide off the stove. use this to hold hot things, as a trivet, baking sheet or to open jars.

Pound Land, Home Bargains and B&M are all pretty good for basic camping supplies.

A four (4) pack of gas canisters at B&M to fit a hi-gear portable stove are a bargain at £3.99 - less than a pound a tin
