Hi Guys

This is my first post as we are relatively new to camping.  We have just bought a fab tent (Vango Icarus 600) along with the carpet and footprint and we have the airbed and crockery/cutlery.

And our first trip is booked for the Isle of Wight in September - am very excited.  Haven't been camping since I was little and have very fond memories.

Anyway - could someone please recommend a cooker - I was going to go with this one: http://www.thefamilytentshop.com/PRD_ProductDetail.aspx?cid=83&prodid=1292&Product=Gamma-Triple-Gas-Hob

Do you think this is good?

Thanks

fraggle x

Hi and welcome. Stove looks good but don't forget the gas bottle, pipe and regulator.

Thanks Both.  I have seen a lovely kitchen stand and larder - http://www.thefamilytentshop.com/PRD_ProductDetail.aspx?cid=43&prodid=261&Product=Sarin-Kitchen-Stand - am loving all the bits and pieces you can get - I can see this becoming very addictive!

Will definitely remeber the gas bottle, pipe and regulator - was going to get a 907 campingaz bottle - are they okay?

907 gas will be fine just make sure you get the regulator for that type of bottle.

If you haven`t got a 907 bottle pop along to your local tip and get one for nothing then take it to the local gas shop and exchange for a full one. Only cost you about £20 that way.

Hi and welcome

I have a kitchen stand like that but it was a lot cheaper. It is worth looking around the Internet as prices vary so much. It is a great unit though.

I have that one. Bought for £27 in the Amazon Lightning Deals just after Christmas. Have also treated myself to the carry bag which is £9.99 from Amazon delivered (Super Saver)

The Campingaz Camping Chef Stove is not that great for toast but the folding camping toaster on top of a burner is great! If you scroll down the product page you will see a video as well.

Folding Toaster & Video

The single Camping Bistro Stoves are cheap and cheerful and work OK and can be purchased around £11 - generic brands are cheaper (from £5). The CP250 gas canisters and generic brands can be purchased for around £4-£7 per 4 pack. This should be enough gas for a 5-7 day camping trip although the amount of gas you use will be dependent on how often you cook and use it.

Campingaz Bistro Stove

They operate on CP250 or non generic brand like this (example only)

We bought that one last year, the only 'problem' we have had is getting it open sometimes it closes up a bit too securely.I disagree with the comment that the metal is a bit light seems just right to me.

It does put a hell of a lot of heat down wards for the grill so be careful not to leave it on with out the pan / food in place.
