I'd say most modern latops will last at least one movie, although the very fact you are playing the movie is using up a lot of the processing power and spinning things (DVD) so would not last as long as say surfing the net etc. Next ideally you do not want to be going from the 12v of the rigs battery, to 240v via the inverter, back to laptop voltage ~19v as that is wasting power. So better to find a car (12v) charger. A typical laptop PSU is around 90W (7.5A) so if you had a 75Ahr lesiure battery that was fully charged will give 10 hours off that + 2 hours either side on the laptop battery A portable DVD player may be more efficent.
