I have a Bosch 12 V screwdriver drill and Bosch 12 V hammer drill

Although they are both 12V the characteristics and gearing of the two is totally different. The hammer drill version is man enough for lots of jobs and will wind the van legs up lots of times before needing a charge

I also have a Bosch 12 V tree lopper and 12 V hedge cutter and they both do agreat job.

The charger is 12minutes and with 8 batteries I can keep on drilling, cutting ,lopping and screwing all day !!!

Were I to be starting again I would go for the max voltage available without too great a weight penalty. You might as well have a mains drill (if available) than a cordless one that has batteries so heavy that you need to do weight training to use it.

Don't buy a very cheap one.    We got one with 2 batteries from Makro a couple of years ago (about £15 I think) and the batteries don't last more than just long enough to wind down 4 steadies.    Replacement batteries are very expensive.    17 years ago when we were building our house we invested in a Makita cordless, excellent tool, but after about 14 years the battery died. Local tool place wanted about £90 for a new one, cheapest on-line was around £60 , got our son to go to a hardware store when he was on a business trip to the US......same battery was only 35 dollars!!!!

Even better......he gave it to his dad as a birthday present!
