You can't really go by size numbers as different manufacturers apply different size numbers to their awnings. In other words what may be a size 10 in one manufacturers size may be a size 9 in an another.

I'm currently looking for an awning for my new van and every single make i've looked at it's a size 17 and i've looked at a lot of makes.
I asked the OP where they got their size from as a 770 cms.awning rail seems rather small for a 390. My previous caravan was a 770 cms. awning rail but that was a 350/2 with a body length of 11 ft. Even the Amara 380/2 is 810 cms. but it's no good offering any advice if the figures are incorrect as the answers are only as good as the information provided.
If the caravan is a 90s model then a Super Sprite 390-2 was the same van as a Sprite Alpine (I very nearly bought a new one in 1994 ) and that van has an A measurement of 766cm and needs a 775cm awning ( from the Isabella web site ), if it is a sprite Europa 390/2 from the mid 90s then that one is very similar to the Apline ( I bought the Europa ) and according to the Isabella web site that one has an A measurement of 782cm and requires a 775cm awning.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

If you look at the Isabella and the Bradcot web sites they give you values that are in cm, the NR awnings web site gives you a length in feet which it relates directly to the A measurement of the awning this is to me the only sensible way to size an awning.

I know how many cm's it is that's how i got to the size 17. Have had a look at the NR website and found what size i need straight away so won't have any problems.

Virtually all if the major manufacturers make no reference to size A or size B all size them in cm.

I know i've looked at so many i'm going bosseyed so know exactly what size i need no matter what make
thanx to all, I got the original figure of 770 from the handbook but I too felt that 770cm was a bit small for a 17ft 11in length caravan. With the info given I will be able to make an informed decision as to which awning i need to get. Once again thanx.
