Would it be possible to have a sub forum for beds, cookers, fridges, tent pegs? At the moment there is just so much information here but all mashed together.
Just an idea to make the information more accessible.
What would help is people putting sensible titles to their threads, lots of info is lost because it's hidden under a title of "I need help" or something similar.
I prefer defined titles too because someone will ask a question and you can remember a recent thread on the topic but having an in appropriate title makes it difficult to trace.
A mixed response there. There is a section on tent reviews what about a section on general kit review. Fridges, cookers, beds the reviews of the large body of members must be useful to help others.
The only problem with having equipment under seperate sub-forums is that if a new camper had bought everything except a fridge, they would only look on the sub-forum for fridges..........so they wouldn't notice posts about all the other luxury equipment which they didn't know they needed until they read about it on here
Would there being a way of maybe setting a list of "key words" on "the system"? (e.g Gas/Cooker/lantern/Sleeping bag/SIM/Fridge/Coolbox/Tent pegs/Site/ etc etc).So that one "key word" MUST be included in the title, otherwise the post it won't submit..?
(a bit like when you've failed to complete an online form because you've tried to get away without leaving your "proper" phone number...)
What are "members" thinking about, when they post titles such as "Help!".."Site wanted" etc
I guess a lot depends on how you think about things or perhaps even how you shop. If I go to the supermarket I tend to cruise all the aisles and may find something I wasn't expecting. But if I'm in a rush I want to go straight into the store, compare the products and walk out (after paying of course).
Now some of you have been on the site for a while and probably know what posts have arrived, which are relevant. But I'm a newbie so I just want an easy way of looking at recent camping beds postings for info on the good, the bad and the special offers.
It's a nice site with lots of info and helpful knowledgeable people but a little loose in structure and tagging. But that doesn't have to change. the main ting is that it is very active with lots of members which helps hugely.

Have to agree with the other comments about thread titles not mentioning the subject under discussion, but product reviews are invited here.
Wow thanks for that i never new it was there!! thank you x
Correct titles and posting in the right section would help a lot so we dont get things like "leaking tent" posted in the "Equipment" section

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again

Usually when this happens either Ratty or Webmaster move it to the right place anyway....I wanted some info once and had no idea which section to post in so just did the post anyway and they kindly came along and moved it to the right forum
I have to say that I usually use the search button at the top of the messages forum and just type in a keyword and then click onto all forums and can usually find what I want quite quickly. Being computer illiterate, I think this site is geared towards me as it's not that difficult to navigate
