We are British living in Belgium and have just started camping - and LOVE it - we camp about 4 or 5 times a year in Belgium, France, Holland and Germany between April - October - we feel we are missing out on camping club benefits - our neighbours this weekend were camping for 15 euro a night to our 30! Advice needed please - we have 2 dogs and 2 young children
Are you currently camping in the UK on a C&CC campsite as a non member? Or are you camping in Europe next to someone making use of either the ACSI discount schme or Camping Cheques?
We've just got back from a site in Belgium (hardly ever camp in the UK as we tend to have use UK time to visit friends and family) The people on the site next to us were using camping cheques but I've not heard about them. I usually book ACSI sites as use the eurocamping site to find a campsite. Any advice would be appreciated
Never used them, but the Camping Cheque scheme appears to be very similar to the ACSI one, the main difference being paying for the cheques in advance rather than just the ACSI book/card.
Some sites will accept Camping Cheques in what would be considered UK (or at least England and Wales) High Season ie late August, as must have been the case with the people you met.
They have a site listed at De Haan, for example, which seems to accept them from 15 August.
