I bought a new larger awning for my little van and the loo tent fits inside it - which is a lot better in rainy weather! However, it's too high to fit in the corner, it does fit, but touches the top of the awning and gets wet from condensation. Anyone know anything else I could get - a smaller pop up loo tent or something similar would be good.
is there any way you could shorten the poles on the tent you already have as its a privacy tent and not used outside you could crinkle the excess fabric at the bottom.
I wondered about shortening the poles, but my loo tent is a really old one, and instead of elastic inside the poles, its like curly metal springs! It just sort of springs up and assembles itself as all the poles are joined with this curly stuff - they don't make then like that these days!!
I did think of just cutting off the top of the cover, so that only the metal frame is touching the top of the awning, but just wondered if a new loo tent or some sort of a screen?? or something might be easier.
If it's metal poles with spring joints, then it's perfect for cutting down. There will be either a plastic spike, or a 'cup' on the bottom of the leg poles, remove these, use a hacksaw to cut the bottom of each leg by however much is necessary, file the cut edge to smooth it, then replace the spikes or cups.
Jean, I'll have a go at what you suggested. Worried that the wire springs inside will just spring away and I won't be able to rethread them though. Had that prob with elasticated poles!

Actually I would be quite happy with some sort of a shower curtain rigged up over a corner, but my mate who comes with me a lot prefers a proper loo tent.
Explain to your mate that whether it be a loo tent or your idea of a shower curtain they both do exactly the same i.e. provide visual privacy. Neither will reduce or stop any sounds.

can't find it on that link, not working. Tried putting 'changing tent' into the search thingy on tesco and it didn't come up there either!

If it has the thick metal poles like a frame tent, the springs will only be 2-3 inches each side of the joint, so if you cut the excess off the bottom of the pole you shouldn't disturb the springs. The bottom should be just hollow pole.
try 'changing tent' on the argos site <img align="absmiddle" src="forum_images/smiley2.gif" width="17" alt="17">
Of course it does help if you look on the argos webs site instead of Tesco. Oh I am a dumb cluck sometimes!
Still tempted to go for lowering the one I've got. Or using a shower curtain or something in a corner, which would take up less room and still preserve dignity and privacy!
